The soldiers organised a 'Peace Council' for their country as they believed that they were saving Turkey from an increasingly out of touch and ideological leadership. Erdogan promised to rule on behalf of all Turks, but increasingly he does not. He promised to repair the economy but there is corruption, and there could be a recession.
His combative policies isolated parts of the world including the Middle East.
Erdogan's power is impossible to shift and impossible to remove as he will not allow rights for the Turks to have a democratic election for fear he will not be President anymore.
The coup was inevitable, and a last resort but it all went wrong because of very bad organisation.
The Peace Council should have had more backing not only from soldiers, but the police as well.
If the military and the police agreed in solidarity to work together to have Erdogan removed because of his war crimes and bad rule. The coup would have ended peacefully and without bloodshed.
17th July 2016
The Turkey's President Erdogan repeated an accusation that cleric Fethullah Gulen was behind the plot, and called for him to be extradited from the US. Mr Gulen strongly denies any involvement. America have said that it has not had a request that Gulen be extradited, and has got to go through the proper channels of legitimacy if there was evidence that Gulen was involved.
There have been claims that Erdogan started the coup to gain popularity, and is using an excuse to blame Gulen for the coup. Erdogan is also using an excuse to rid of the Turkey's justice system from all state institutions to create an Islamist State full of extremists, radicals and terrorists.
There have been repression and oppression caused by Erdogan's authoritarian premiership. He is cleansing out all opposition to the presidential system in order to fuel his popularity and infecting his country creating instability. He would then press for constitutional change that would further enhance his powers, and change Turkey for good without democracy, freedom and rights.
Turkey is thinking of the death penalty which is illegal by EU standards, and Erdogan is turning on his own people by annihilating as many as he can who will not support him. He is not going to waste time finding evidence or looking for evidence which is strange, as no one can prove anyone is a traitor or a betrayer.
It is obvious that Erdogan has staged the attempted coup himself in an attempt to tighten his grip on power. He is not acting within the law, and there have been a history of journalists being gagged so they cannot speak out against Erdogan. The people in Turkey are really so afraid, they cannot speak out for democracy, freedoms and rights in a modern world.
It seems strange that the military was fighting for democracy, freedoms and rights on a bridge such as the Bosphorus while they thought it was a military exercise. Erdogan is destroying his own military, so that Islamist State soldiers who are radicals, extremists and terrorists can take over the country and create the Caliphate. Erdogan is very mad, very dangerous, manipulative and cunning. He will never give up on his dream of a Caliphate and the Ottoman Empire in Turkey.
All tourists should be advised to stay away from Turkey for good for their own safety and well being.
